Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

09. 07. 2019

At the sittings closed to the public, held on 9 July 2019, the Security Services Control Committee considered and adopted the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency activity reports for the previous period.

The members of the Security Services Control Committee fully support the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, authorities’ and security services’ efforts to protect the security of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens. In the case of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, the Committee denounced the attempts of the so-called Pristina authorities to divert attention from the real executors, instructors and motives.

The Committee members denounced the orchestrated aggressive campaign of the so-called Pristina authorities to exile Serbian citizens and prevent their ties with the Republic of Serbia. It is obvious that the creation of Greater Albania is underway and the whole campaign is coordinated from one center which was recently proven by the intention of Pristina and Tirana to form common embassies. President Vucic had warned of this and the Committee expects a reaction from the international community on preventing the creation of ethnically ‘clean’ states in the region and protecting the lives of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

The current security situation demands a concentrated engagement of all state structures and security agencies in the Republic of Serbia. To that end, the Committee members fully support the coordinated efforts of the security services on protecting the national interests and pursuing the security intelligence policy of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members deemed the security services’ reports detailed and competent, offering a comprehensive overview of the work and results of the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency in the reporting period.

The Committee members gave a positive assessment of the work of the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency’s personnel in the reporting period and gave them full support in the pursuit of their priority tasks. The Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency were found to have acted in line with the law in the interest of protecting the security of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens.
