Oversight principles

Article 15.

Oversight over the security services relies upon the following principles:

  • subordination and responsibility of the security services to the elected authorities of the Republic of Serbia;
  • political, ideological and interest neutrality of the security services;
  • obligation of the security services to inform the public about accomplishment of their missions, in accordance with law;
  • duties of the persons in charge of oversight over the security services activities related to the public informing about results of the oversight;
  • professional responsibilities and operational autonomy of the security services members in performing their tasks and responsibilities of the heads of the service.
