Meeting between Minister Stefanović and representatives of Indonesian Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the delegation representing the Indonesian Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency, led by Lieutenant General Joni Supriyanto, the Head of the Agency.

Minister Stefanović welcomed the delegation and thanked them for the visit, noting that the two countries have been linked for decades not only by cooperation, but also by friendly relations despite the distance.

Stefanović said that Serbia was grateful to Indonesia for its support and consistent position regarding the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo.

The Minister of Defence expressed hope that military scientific and military-technical cooperation would continue, and invited Indonesian side to visit the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Belgrade, as well as the "Partner" Weapons and Military Equipment Fair in early October in order to jointly develop new technologies.

General Supriyanto conveyed the Indonesian Defence Minister’s cordial greetings to Stefanović and emphasized his desire to improve military-technological cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency expressed hope that Minister Stefanović would visit Indonesia.

General Supriyanto thanked the Director of the Military Intelligence Agency, Brigadier General Zoran Stojković, for the warm welcome. Today's meeting, which was held in the Old General Staff’s Small War Hall, was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha.
