Oversight principles
The supervision of the security services’ activities is based on the following principles:
- security services’ subordination and responsibility to the elected authorities of the Republic of Serbia;
- political, ideological and interest neutrality of the security services;
- security services’ obligations to inform the public of the performance of their tasks in accordance with the law;
- duty of the supervisory bodies of the security services’ activities to inform the public of the supervision results;
- professional responsibilities and operational independence of the security services’ members in performing assignments and responsibility of the heads of the security services for the work of the services.
